Aero Open Day – Gympie 7.8.2016

Gympie Aero Club Open Day Kybong 7/8/16
What a great day this was !! GHAC had a good roll-up but was only one of a number of car clubs in attendance. However the wide range of cars and motorbikes on display paled almost into insignificance with the incredible number and variety of aeroplanes on show on the ground and airborne, from a C130 to home built. GHAC “christened” our new(ish) gazebo and very new club banners. (The hardware for the latter was kindly donated by Barry McLean, .thanks Barry.)

Aero day 4

These two like a bit dicey to me.

4 Club Rally 2016

The 4 Club rally was fantastic. A superb weekend, thanks South Burnett Club. Good driving, great company, beautiful food and wonderful weather. What more could anyone want? We also visited ‘Vintage Rims’ and saw how the rims are made. It takes passion and patience to produce the finished product. Wow, what an intriguing process.

President’s Rally 31.7.2016

Thanks President Brian – it was a fantastic rally. We enjoyed a beautiful, relaxing drive through the picturesque countryside. Twelve cars ranging in age from the 1930’s through to modern cruised the roads. After departing the clubrooms we headed off through Southside and on to Lake Borumba where we had our morning tea stop. From there we travelled to Lake MacDonald, where we were joined by David and Jan, for lunch. After great food and conversation we headed back to Gympie via the Cooran shop – can’t have a car rally without an ice-cream stop.

Parked up for morning tea at Borumba.

GHAC donate funds to local high schools

Today, Wednesday 16th March 2016, some members of GHAC attended the local high schools in their old cars. They delivered the clubs annual donation to the school. This money is used to support driver education program. Students had a chance to view the old cars and in some cases even sit in the cars. Happy and safe motoring to our future road users.GHAC cheques to Nash 16.3 (1)
